Okay Dubai trip, let me save you SO much money.
So you land in Dubai and everyone’s first move is Museum of the Future. Looks insane from outside, everyone’s Instagram has it, but the ticket is pricey AF for basically a 45-min walkthrough. You know what’s right there for a fraction of the price? Dubai Frame. Take the metro, get off, walk in. Same “wow Dubai skyline” energy, way less damage to your wallet.
Now everyone wants that Palm Jumeirah view, and Aura Skypool comes up. That insane infinity pool 200m in the air. Full pool entry is steep, but the move is to book their sunrise breakfast slot instead. You still get the same jaw dropping Palm Jumeirah view, golden hour light and food, for noticeably less than a regular pool session, with basically zero crowd since you’re up early anyway.
Then the big one, Burj Khalifa. Everyone rushes to book the 124-125th floor ticket. Yes it’s iconic, but it’s also just a viewing deck, you go up, you look, you leave. Instead book a table at one of the restaurants at the top of Burj Khalifa in the evening. Same height, same view, except now you’re sitting with food and drinks watching the sunset turn into the city lighting up, and depending on what you order it can end up costing about the same or even less than the ticket alone.
And for the best Burj Khalifa photo, skip paying for any viewing deck entirely. Go to Dubai Mall, find the Apple Store, walk out to its balcony. Free, unblocked, perfect shot. People pay hundreds of dirhams for views that are honestly worse than this one. Basically, Dubai’s whole game is the famous thing is rarely the smart thing, there’s almost always a side door version that gives you the same memory for less.
